Progressive Safety of 101 Worthing Road, Sheffield has provided world class safety equipment and work clothing since 1960. Originally to miners, today they are trusted around the world from their home of Sheffield to Saskatchewan and manufacture quality workwear and footwear ranges under the JCB Workwear, WORKTOUGH and Contractor brands.

Being family owned, the business is incredibly passionate about its South Yorkshire connections and has a great reputation in the area, offering daily deliveries across the City, as featured on Greatest Hits Radio. As well as having a robust national and international distributor network serviced from the National Distribution centre.

In order to better serve their customers, they have restructured their sales operation using the widely popular internal and external pairing system, so customers can expect further familiarity as well as a dedicated named contact in the office.

It sees the 5 external sales account managers areas restructure too, with the areas now as follows:

Scotland and North of England – Sohail Javed, Sohail was formerly the New Business Manager at Progressive and having delivered several blue-chip retailer relationships in his first year, he now expands his customer base taking over from John Ashworth who recently retired following more than a decade of service. He is twinned with Wendy Smith, having just passed her 1 year mark Wendy joined Progressive from the legal industry.

West Midlands and South West – Julie Parr, Julie has been with Progressive Safety for approaching 25 years and has diligently run the South of England across a vast customer base. She is twinned with Donna Bowen, one of our longest servers in the Sales Office, and is our Senior Customer Service Advisor.

East Midlands and South East – Jayne Gibson, Jayne is also approaching the decade mark with Progressive Safety and has a varied collection of customers, many of which are JCB machinery dealers and vibrant independent safety distributors. She is twinned with Julie Mallinson who is also beyond a decade of service herself, with an office supplies background offers significant value to our multi-category distributors.

South Yorkshire Contractual Business – Andy Sanderson, Andy is well known in the South Yorkshire area have served the local PPE and workwear industry for decades, Andy is able to offer much valued input to a variety of manufacturing, production and logistics sites. He is twinned with Julie Thom, who joined Progressive almost 20 years ago, Julie has a solid understanding of our internal processes to offer bespoke branding, badging, signage and full site supplies solutions.

This team is also bolstered with an Outbound Sales Telephone Account Manager, Kyle Robertson who focuses heavily on special offers, new ranges and additional services that are available across the whole customer base.

National Business and Sales Management – Nick Milner, Nick is approaching 4 years with Progressive having worked across Commercial, Outbound Sales, National Sales in a leading competitor. He is twinned with Paul Wilson, who supports the wider team with all aspects of digital and system processes.

Adding more detail, Nick Milner, Sales Manager said:

“It’s been a time of change recently for Progressive, and the future is really exciting particularly conversations with new distributors in new focus areas. Our New Product Development has also gone into overdrive and we have so many exciting new ranges to demonstrate.

The team here are all incredibly experienced and already work very well together, this restructure enables them to focus even more closely.

We’re aiming to become the single source supplier of choice across big box retailers, farm and country stores, tool shops and safety equipment suppliers. Especially those that really want to distribute and make the most of JCB Workwear, WORKTOUGH and Contractor brands. Alongside this, we also have our carefully selected 3rd party brands on a stocked, wholesale basis. This is the lifeblood of our organisation and allows us to employ dozens of local people across all departments in our organisation.

The Mega Event at Progressive Safety for June runs between the 23rd June and the 1st July.
